Honda Odyssey Car

It is excellent for long trips with the form fitting seats that have complete creature comfort that adjusts to your lower lumbar to make the fit easily. For breaks the wife will drive while I jump in the back to catch a few winks in the captain chairs that lay-back almost horizontal. It also has a wonderful vehicle stability assist (VSA) system that helps to stabilize the vehicle during cornering. It also assists you in maintaining traction while accelerating on loose or slippery roads. It does this by regulating the engines output and by selectively applying the brakes.

Honda Odyssey

The wife and I bought a 2006 Honda Odyssey in 2007 that had only 23,000 miles on it, in tip top shape, with the 3.5 v-tech twin overhead cam enduro engine, that easily cruises at 70 miles per hour, with a top end of 160, for a smart price of $23,999. It has been one of the best investments I have ever made. We use it to transport our day care kids to and from elementary school, take trips on the weekend to buy toys, blankets, pillows at auction for resale to other used toy & thrift stores in the area. The back bench seats lay down into the recessed trunk, and the middle captain chairs fold down so I can fit almost any backyard toy, broken down, into the back.

In fact, there is another device called grille guard (also named as bull bar) which is also designed to safeguard the car and people inside. Grille guard is originally used for preventing the damage from bulls running on the road in Australia. Later on, it is designed and upgraded to perform in car collisions. Nowadays, grille guards are usually attached to the front of SUVs and trucks. These thick, strong tubing devices actually create a rugged and robust overall look for SUVs and trucks. If your car is not a SUV or a truck, but a minibus, you can also add a grille guard on it.

2011 Honda Ridgeline Performs

Up until recent years Honda was absent in the truck world. They had spent most of their time developing some of the best cars in the world such as the Accord and Civic. But then Honda decided to jump into the water with a truck; they call it the Ridgeline. When the Honda Ridgeline was first made available some people were skeptical that it may not be able to meet industry standards. But that notion was soon tossed aside. The Honda Ridgeline has proven that it can compete in a crowded truck market.

Often times people like to just drive. They will drive to the grocery store and then back home. In a couple hours they realize that they need something at the hardware store, so they will take that trip and back home again. Taking several small trips and not allowing your car enough time to warm the engine properly uses about twice as much fuel as you would need to. Plan accordingly. Make a shopping list and get everything that you need all in one trip. Not only will this save you money on gas mileage, wear and tear on the vehicle, but it will also save you something that is much more valuable to a person - time. Also, while you are running your errands you should avoid any unnecessary idling. If you have to wait at the drive up at the bank for a while, it is best to turn off the vehicle to avoid wasting gas and stop air pollution.

2011 The Honda Ridgeline

The Ridgeline comes standard with a good bit of safety equipment that helps to make the insurance price reasonable. Ridgeline safety equipment is comprehensive and it includes multi stage front airbags and side impact airbags for front passengers, front and rear side curtain airbags for head protection, active front head restraints, LATCH child seat anchors for the three rear seats, anti lock brakes, traction control, vehicle stability assist, and a tire pressure monitoring system. All these features come standard and obviously help to make Honda Ridgeline insurance what it is. In conjunction with the safety features, the Ridgeline boasts an engine that is perfect for serving its purpose. The fact that the engine is not really enhanced or supercharged goes a long way in keeping the insurance rates in the ball park.

However, when you sit within the Ridgeline, you're not struck by how plain and "ordinary" it is. In short, you don't feel as though you're sitting in a truck. With the unique cab design, cable of seating five grown adults in comfort, the lockable in-bed trunk, the dual tailgate, integrated Bluetooth technology, the optional rearview camera and other luxury upgrades, the Ridgeline delivers on comfort, enjoyment and power.

All New 2011 Honda Civic

Honda Civic 2011 will introduce new colors into your body color option to suit your own personality and taste. Due to the success of the series, the manufacturers have opted not to tinker much with the design concept of this new vehicle while trying to keep it futuristic looking to be able to compete with the others in the same segment. However, do not expect a complete body overhaul on this one.

Most people who have owned a Civic at some point of time in their life would agree with the fact that these vehicles are not too hard on maintenance. With Honda's assurance of roadside assistance, comprehensive service networks and widespread dealerships, Civic owners don't usually face many problems. For those of you who own older models, however, there could be a case where replacement auto parts for your vehicle would be out of stock. This is not a problem with Honda, it is there with every other car manufacturer as no one keeps a ready stock of auto parts for older models.

Hybrid Cars Honda Insight Body Kit – The Vehicles of Tomorrow

Honda insight modifications

Being green on the road may be the best thing for the environment but it comes at a cost, the cost of driving an ordinary looking car. However there is an answer in the form of after market body kits by Exlusive Zeus. The new generation Honda Insight can be kitted to look like a sports car with the comfort of knowing that it will not contribute to harming our environment. Aggressive styling of the body kit is realized with its many ventilation holes and color coding creating a flowing aesthetic that is attractive. The four piece kit comes in front spoiler, front grill, side skirts and rear under spoiler that can be bolted on to the factory vehicle. Painted or unpainted options are available with price reductions for the latter.

Want to by a car that runs on water? Well, this might have sounded funny a few years back, but not anymore. To beat the growing menace of air pollution, scientists have really developed cars that use 100% water as fuel. And what’s more, these cars might possibly be the vehicles of the future, in a time when gasoline and diesel powered cars will be rendered obsolete and relegated to museums.

Cars running on alternate sources of energy are the latest fad in the automobile world. In fact, scientists have developed cars that run not only on water but also on other non-conventional sources of energy such as electricity, solar power, bio-diesel, ethanol and LPG. This is a necessity, considering the depleting stocks of fossil fuels and the rising pollution levels in the world. In this article, we take a quick look at the various pros and cons of cars powered by alternate energy sources.

Honda insight

Till date, the most popular form of alternate energy that has been used to power cars is electricity. Cars like Toyota Prius and Honda Insight can operate using both electricity and gasoline. These cars, labelled as hybrids, contain an electric motor in addition to the regular one, giving the rider a choice of power source. Compared to other cars, the hybrids are more environment friendly, and are also cheap to run. Hybrid electric vehicles contain batteries which may be charged using a standard electrical plug at home.

The use of LPG and CNG has also been promoted by various governments in the recent years to cut down on the emission of greenhouse gases. Cars powered by CNG are extremely fuel-efficient, and produce very low levels of emission. It is possible to convert a conventional petrol engine in a CNG compatible one by using a simple Hybrid Conversion Kit, thus giving petrol car owners a chance to cut down on emission levels.

Besides these, a lot of research has been done in the recent years in developing cars that run on solar power and bio-diesel. While the former typically harvests energy from the sun using solar panels on its body, the latter uses fuels derived from natural, renewable sources of energy such as plants and vegetable oils. Astrolab, designed by the French transportation futurists Venturi, is the world’s first commercially available solar-powered car. Solar powered cars have zero-emission levels and are ideal carriers for a pollution-free world. However, the development of the solar car is still in its nascent stages and we are yet to have a solar-powered heavy vehicle on the roads. On the other hand, cars running on bio-fuel are easier to make, but their popularity has been checked due to the limited availability of bio-fuels.

The water powered car is also one of the possible solutions that scientists have come up to meet the challenges of growing air-pollution. This car uses the technique of electrolysis to split water into Oxygen and Hydrogen, thus generating the required power in the process. Although a totally pollution-free vehicle, the water-powered car is expensive to make, and research is still on to make the car commercially viable.

What is promising however, is the tremendous amount of interest that hybrid cars have generated among people all over the world. With depleting oil stocks and rising fuel prices, vigorous R&D is being conducted in developing automobiles that run on alternate forms of energy. The increase in air-pollution and the Greenhouse effect has also contributed to the search for a non-polluting, cost-effective car. In fact, we are not very far away from the day when the perfect green car will be a reality for consumers. Hybrid cars are indeed the vehicles of tomorrow and they are here to stay.

All 2011 Green Car Vision Award finalists are electric vehicles

The Green Car Journal has nominated five electric vehicles for the 2011 Green Car Vision Award: the Ford Focus BEV, the Honda Fit EV, the future Mitsubishi i model for the American market, the Toyota RAV4 EV (currently under development with Tesla) and the Volvo C30 DRIVe. The winner will be announced on January 27 at the 2011 Washington Auto Show, in the American capital. Here's what the jury has to say about the finalists:

Ford's Focus BEV, which is based on the automaker's all-new 2012 Focus model, will be introduced in the U.S. sometime in 2011. The automaker is leveraging global platforms like the Focus and collaborating with key powertrain suppliers like Magna International as part of its global electrification strategy.

The Honda Fit EV concept shares the direction and styling of the upcoming production Fit EV that will be coming to U.S. shores in 2012. The five-passenger electric will be powered by lithium-ion batteries and feature Econ, Normal, and Sport modes to maximize efficiency or improve acceleration.

Mitsubishi will produce the newly-named Mitsubishi i electric vehicle, a battery powered iteration of the automaker's popular 'i' minicar sold in Japan. Retooled and larger for U.S. tastes, this lithium-ion powered car will be sold in four Western states starting in November 2011 with a national roll-out to follow.

Toyota's second generation RAV4 EV will begin a demonstration program in 2011 with plans for market arrival of a fully-engineered vehicle in 2012. The automaker has partnered with Tesla to fast-track development, with Tesla providing the lithium metal oxide battery and related components and Toyota handling the rest.

The Volvo C30 DRIVe is an electric variant of this automaker's small sport hatchback that's powered by lithium-ion batteries from Indiana-based ENER1. A small test fleet is currently operating in Sweden with a larger demonstration of DRIVe electrics planned for Europe, China, and the U.S. in 2011.

US federal agency to investigate Honda Accord Hybrid

From the New York Times: A little more than five years after a crash killed Lalitha Seetharaman’s husband, Gautam, she is hoping the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will be able to confirm her contention that her Honda Accord Hybrid’s brakes were responsible for his death.

To obtain that information, she is employing a little-used and little-known federal regulation that requires the safety agency to consider carrying out a defect investigation.

Ms. Seetharaman, 31, of Newton, Pa., was driving the Accord Hybrid at the time of the accident, in which she was badly injured. She was initially charged with careless operation, but the charge was later dismissed for “not meeting the burden of proof,” according to officials from the New Jersey State Police and local court.

Lalitha Seetharaman hopes to learn whether the brakes on her Honda Accord Hybrid contributed to the crash in which her husband, Gautam, was killed. Now, N.H.T.S.A. is considering whether to grant her defect petition, which would ask the safety agency to investigate Ms. Seetharaman’s claim: that a loss of stopping power occurs when the Accord Hybrid’s brakes are applied on a rough or uneven surface.
